On December 1, 2022, the production hall built within the framework of the Barabás investment project, which serves as the venue for processing industrial fiber hemp, was handed over.
Welcome speeches were given at the ceremony by: Mr Jenő Szász, President of the Research Institute for National Strategy, Dr István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, Dr Attila Tilki, MP, and Mr Gábor Daróczi, Mayor of Barabás, and Mr Endre Baracsi, Vice President of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Council also participated.
In the remaining part of the handover, with the cooperation of Kenderlánc Ltd., the technologies used in the plant, the mechanical fiber extraction and carding were presented, and many raw materials and finished products, which can be produced from hemp and may even form part of the portfolio in the future, could be viewed.
The purpose of the plant is to make finished products in addition to the production of raw materials for the construction industry. Ready-made masonry blocks, fence elements, and insulation panels will be manufactured in the plant, and the hemp fiber will initially be used as stuffing for pet beds, said Mr Bence Sarkadi, Managing Director of Érmellék Centrum Közösségi Nonprofit Ltd.
