Road handover
The new road section connecting Nagyrozvágy and Nagygéres was handed over in a ceremonial setting.
On 26 September 2023, the new road linking Nagyrozvágy and Nagygéres was inaugurated in a ceremony, which now provides a direct road connection between the two settlements on both sides of the Slovak and Hungarian borders.
Speeches were given at the ceremony by Mr Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr Zoltán Pál, Mayor of Nagygéres, Mr Rastislav Trnka, President of the County Municipality of Košice, among others. Several representatives of the border region also spoke at the ceremony. All the speakers stressed that the new road will help to bring Hungary and Slovakia closer and will contribute to increasing the potential for cooperation between the two countries. The Foreign Minister underlined that the new road linking Nagyrozvágy with Nagygéres is the 38th border crossing between the two countries.
