FUTURE IN HEMP

In the framework of the FUTURE IN HEMP - PROD (SKHU/1802/3.1/020) project, the Mayor's Office of Nagygéres Municipality held an expert event entitled ‘The possibilities of a local economic development programme based on industrial hemp’ in November 2023.

The event was opened by Mayor Zoltán Pál, followed by a presentation on the strategic context and vision of the hemp industry by Mr György Molnár, retired director of the National Strategic Research Institute. It was Mr György Molnár from the National Strategic Research Institute who paved the way for the launch of the ‘Future in Hemp’ project.

The next speaker was Mr János Vincze, farmer of Gereben Tanya, who has been growing, using and educating about hemp for many years. He uses industrial hemp in many different ways around the farm and shared this knowledge with the participants of the event.

Finally, Mr Zsolt Pásztor, a former staff member of the National Strategic Research Institute, gave a presentation on the novelties and opportunities of the hemp industry. He has been working with different ways of utilizing industrial hemp for almost 10 years, has participated in several successful projects, therefore he has up-to-date knowledge about the development and evolution of the hemp industry which he shared with the participants of the professional programme.
